Enjoying hands-on work while utilising the KAUST Nanofabrication Lab facilities.

Another significant period was spent at KAUST(Dec 2021-May 2025), where I never felt bored during work. I led and executed several research projects and had the opportunity to expand my expertise across various research fields.

I spent a significant and memorable period of my life pursuing my Ph.D. (2014–2020), marked by invaluable experiences and enduring memories.

ABOUT ME
I am Dr. Suman Mandal, from Chingani, a small village in West Bengal, India. My research focuses on the fundamental study of organic materials, a key area within experimental condensed matter physics, and their practical applications in emerging scientific and technological fields. With a strong emphasis on device physics, functional chemistry, and nanotechnology, my work investigates the electrical, optical, chemical, and structural properties of organic materials, as well as their responses to external stimuli such as temperature, humidity, pressure, biological compounds, and gases. This research supports the development of high-performance, low-power devices for next-generation, Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled sustainable organic technologies in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). A key goal of my work is to bridge the gap between laboratory research and industrial application, ensuring that innovative scientific ideas are successfully translated into practical and scalable solutions.
